15th World Congress of Endoscopic Surgery

Dear colleagues and friends,

On behalf of the organizing committee of the 15th World Congress of Endoscopic Surgery (WCES 2016) in conjunction with Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia (ELSA 2016) and 15th Chinese National Congress of Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Surgery (CSLES 2016), I would like to extend my warmest welcome to you and invite all of you to Suzhou & Shanghai, China on Nov. 9-12, 2016.

Since the first laparoscopic cholecystectomy was performed in China in 1991, the minimally invasive surgery (MIS) has developed rapidly. But under uneven social development, China’s MIS still had long way catching up with the advanced world level. In the new century, MIS has evolved through enormous transformations both in quality and scale in China. This congress is the very first time that WCES is hosted in China. “East meets West”, and it will be a platform to introduce China to the world, and will become an important landmark on both world’s and China’s MIS development.

On the congress, we are providing you with various experience such as live surgery, video theatre (HD, 3D and robotic surgery), online theatre, Video World Cup, precongress workshop, president award, symposia, etc. The congress will cover topics not only in general surgery, but also in urology, thoracic surgery and pediatric surgery.

Shanghai is the most developed city in China and Suzhou is the most historic city in east of China. The congress will not only provide a place to share academic knowledge, but also allows all of you to know more about Chinese history, tradition and culture. My colleagues and I are looking forward to meeting you in China and wish everyone enjoy this academic event.
